The African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET) Nigeria, has successfully conducted interview for National Stop Transmission of Poliomyelitis (NSTOP) LGA Officer (NSLO) for Kwara and Kogi States.
Shortlisted applicants who haven met the minimum requirements as per the advertisement were interviewed between Thurs 2nd July and Fri 3rd July, 2020 at Saatof Hotels, Lokoja Kogi State.
The Interview panel was comprised of:
- Dr Abubakar Yakubu – ED KSPHCDA
- Dr Felix Mbodi – State Team Lead AFENET, Kogi State
- Mrs Margaret Fagbemi – HR AFENET
- Dr Isaac Igbaver – M & E AFENET
- Dr Lydia Shally-Taiwo – Measles Focal AFENET
- Dr Abbot Samuel – Surveillance Focal AFENET
The ED KSPHCDA – Dr Abubakar Yakubu appreciated the tremendous support of AFENET that the Agency and people of kogi State have enjoyed over the years in the drive to kick Polio out of the Country.
He applauded the move to have Kogi NSLOs who will monitor that children at the grass-root are given the polio vaccines and maintain our status of being Polio free even as a State. He however appealed to the AFENET team to give more consideration to kogites in their selection of NSLOs for Kogi.
“As a State and an Agency, we are poised to collaborate with AFENET Nigeria and provide every necessary support in the NSTOP project. You can count on us but I appeal that you give more consideration to Kogi Applicants in your selection for Kogi NSLOs.”
