It was a ray of sunshine at the Kogi State Primary Health Care Development Agency Headquarters when the Executive Director KGSPHCDA – Dr Abubakar Yakubu in a light ceremony, handed over keys of motorcycles to Routine Immunization Officers (RIOs) of the 21 LGAs of kogi State.
Earlier in the day of Thursday 5th November, 2020, the Agency received 21 Motorcycles and 42 Laptops from NPHCDA for appropriate distribution and use to enhance delivery of primary health care services especially in hard-to-reach settlements around the State and improve data capture and timeliness of reporting.
Dr Abubakar – ED KGSPHCDA in his remarks appreciated the immense contributions and support from NPHCDA to the State. He further stated that the receipt of these items has strengthened the resolve to continue with primary health care and routine immunization services in the State. He charged the RI Officers not to relent in their efforts and use the items provided as aid in carrying out Primary Health care activities. He seized the opportunity to appeal to development partners that more of these kind gestures are solicited to revive the Agency and by extension, the State.
The State Epidemiologist – Dr Austine Ojotule and Director Disease Control and Immunization – Mrs Odaudu Deborah added their voices to appreciate NPHCDA for the supply of the materials and appealed to the RIOs to use the materials for the purposes intended.
Present at the distribution ceremony included the State Coordinator SOML – Mrs Sabdat Ajakaye, State Coordinator ANRIN – Mr Bola Ogundusi Kogi State Coordinator NPHCDA – Mr Folayan Idowu, the TA NPHCDA – Mr Okoro Adolphus, the ZTO NPHCDA – Alh Andason Mohammed, the Agency Directors and Heads of Departments, PM SERICC, SIO, SCCO amongst others.
Indeed, all hope is not lost with health care service delivery in Kogi State.
