The good people of Budon Community in Lokoja Local Government Area were in high spirits at the commissioning of the upgraded and equipped Primary Health Centre in their domain on Thursday, 20th January, 2022. This philanthropic gesture was made possible by a daughter of the soil- Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, Hon Minister of State FCT, the Sarauniya of Kakanda Kingdom and Onyize of Ebira Land.
In his remarks at the event, the SA to the Hon Minister, Hon Ibrahim who represented the Hon Minister, described Dr Ramatu Tijjani as “a passionate woman with a heart of giving back to her people. She considers health topmost to better living which is what has prompted the project”. He added that Dr Tijjani sends her appreciation for the people’s prayers that sustains her at her duties.
Remarks by The Agankyu of Kakanda, HRH Alh. Mohammed Sani extolled the virtues of Dr Ramatu Tijjani for the significant contributions, financially and materially to her Fatherland. He mentioned other numerous projects embarked upon by the Hon Minister among which are:
- Distribution of food items to her community during the flood disasters
- Quick intervention during the outbreak of Cholera at Ataji
- Payment of WAEC fees for 2021 candidates of UBE/JSS Budon’
- Payment of NECO fees for 2020
- Distribution of farming materials like pumping machines to farmers in the community
- Distribution of fishing equipment to fishermen in the community
- Distribution of clothing and cooking utensils to various communities.
The Royal Father seized the opportunity to urge all Kakandas to develop the land and pray for their daughter to be successful in all her endeavours.
Furthermore, HRH immensely appreciated His Excellency Gov Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State acknowledging the Governor as ‘The security conscious Governor’. “With his able leadership, Kogi State is regarded as one of the safest States in Nigeria. He has the personality to unite the people, inspire development and lead Kogi to the next level…” He prayed that Almighty Allah bring to an end the scourge of COVID-19, kidnapping and other social vices in the Country.
Others who gave goodwill messages at the event were APC Chairman Kakanda ward, Alh Ibrahim Chata and the Women Leader. They both appreciated the Hon Minister’s contributions and prayed for Allah’s blessings to return to her.
The Executive Director KSPHCDA-Dr Abubakar Yakubu, ably represented by the Director Admin and Finance, Mr Akor Monday O. while receiving the PHC on behalf of the State Government, immensely appreciated and commended the Hon Minister- Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu for the kind gesture to the community. He challenged the community to ensure security of the facility against vandalism and theft of equipment provided for their own good and pledged the Agency’s commitment to adequately staff the facility with qualified and competent staff.
Mr Akor in turn handed over the PHC to the representative of the Lokoja LGA and PHC department – Mal Mohammed Ndagi who received the PHC and appreciated the facilitator of the renovation and upgrade of the facility.
The ceremony witnessed a special gift to the mother and first baby delivered at the facility immediately after the upgrade by the Hon Minister.
Other Staff of the State PHCDA at the event were the Deputy Director Admin – Pst Ijalija, the Agency’s DSNO – Hon Ehimoni Jaiye T, the Asst SEMCHIC FP – Mrs Maryam Danjuma and SAO/ED Sec – Kaura Gure.
