It is on record that the State Drug Store and Cold Room premises have been without water supply for over five (5) years. The motorized borehole that was sunk many years back had developed faults and remained unrepaired. Connection to the Government water project for the area suffered blockages and breakage of pipes which resulted in the State cold store cut off from water supply.
A situation the Executive Director KGSPHCDA – Dr Abubakar Yakubu inherited but has been relentless ever since to bring about solution. It is no news that paucity of funds nationwide and with bias to our dear own Kogi State would not make this burden light for Dr Yakubu.
Being the prudent manager of resources that he is, coupled with his doggedness for result with a never-give-up spirit, Dr Yakubu once again broke the jinx of never-can-do spirit. Alas! What seemed far-fetched has been made possible. The Cold Room premises is now connected to Government water supply serving the area. In addition, a storage tank was provided to store water for the period when supply may be seized for a while.
The ED- Dr Yakubu took time out to inspect work done and certify that there is water supply for usage by all and sundry at the premises.
How the Staff and visitors have coped with the situation all this while is left to imagination…

We cannot thank our ED enough for feeling what we have been going through and coming to our aid. By the grace of God, he will do more for the Staff and the Agency.”
