The Kogi State primary Health care Development Agency (KGSPHCDA) has been formally notified by the NPHCDA of re-scheduled Integrated Measles and Men A campaign in the State to be co-sponsored by GAVI and CDC.
The tentative dates for the activity is 25th September – 4th October, 2020.
The Social Mobilization unit of the Agency in collaboration with the State Health Educator have since kicked off Advocacy to key Stakeholder MDAs and non-governmental organizations on sensitization and information dissemination to ensure in-depth participation of the people.
At the Ministry of Information, the Hon Commissioner- Hon Kingsley Fanwo appreciated the efforts of the Agency and its key players in ensuring that the State is not left behind in the scheme of activities as it relates to primary health. He commended His Excellency – Gov Yahaya Bello for the tremendous support to primary health care service delivery to the people of the State adding that the Ministry will give every necessary support to the Agency through the forthcoming Measles/Men A programme.
Also, the Social Mobilization team paid advocacy to the DG Radio Kogi Broadcasting Corporation – Alh Ozovehe Oyila to use his good office and establishment in disseminating information through announcements and jingles in the major languages of the State to better reach a wider audience for the upcoming activities.
Similar visits were made to Kogi Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Chairman- Bishop John Ibenu, National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) Chairman – Mall Nuhu Omuya with the same message of community participation and inclusiveness in the up-coming campaign.
More advocacy and mobilization scheduled to continue in collaboration with Development Partners, the State Rotary Club and community associations.

He expressed confidence in the administration of His Excellency – Gov Yahaya Adoza Bello to do more in primary health care delivery because of his passion and love for the people and desire to make life and living comfortable through the provision of quality and efficient primary health care service delivery system.
